Gilgeous-Alexander’s leadership, clutch performances, and relentless work ethic were key to Oklahoma City’s resurgence as a championship contender. “This award means a lot,” Gilgeous-Alexander said during the announcement ceremony. “But I’m even more proud of what we’ve accomplished as a team. We’re not done yet.”
The Thunder, a young and dynamic squad, finished the regular season with a 60–22 record—their best since the Durant-Westbrook era. Gilgeous-Alexander becomes the first Thunder player to win MVP honors since Kevin Durant in 2014.
